Text Box: Whether you are moving just yourself, a family with children, or a family with pets, moving can be hard. There are a lot of uncertainties and new things.

Will everything fit on the truck? Will the movers do things the way I want them done? What if something breaks? You’ve got enough to worry about without adding questions like these on top of your mountain of concerns. Simply follow the below guidelines for residential moves, and leave the rest to us:

Clearly label items you do not want loaded, and set them aside. When your movers first arrive, make sure to tell them about the items you do not want loaded, and where they are located. Items in this category may include things such as temporary clothing, paperwork pertaining to your move, or mobile electronic devices (laptop, mp3 player, etc.).
Be sure not to pack dangerous items such as explosive or flammable materials or liquids, poisons, radioactive materials, and compressed gases. Common household examples include nail polish remove, fireworks, lighter fluid, matches, and automotive repair chemicals. Additionally, you may not wish to pack firearms, prescription drugs, family photos, or perishable foods.
If you have children or pets, consider packing special items for them. The movers can arrange for important things to be unloaded first, if necessary. You may wish to arrange a box or two containing items for children and pets in advance and let your movers know that you may need to access these boxes sooner than others.
Clearly mark “FRAGILE” on any boxes or items which may require special attention. Our movers are highly experienced with moving all kinds of objects, furniture, and boxes. But sometimes we need to know a little more about any specific concerns you may have about your belongings. Marking which items are fragile will help us ensure their safe transportation.
Take irreplaceable items with you, or any other items of extraordinary value. Examples of such items might include family jewelry, money, antiques, or other appraised/insured items which exceed a value of $100 per pound.
